REDHILL ADVENTURE

And again, we head over to Redhill food centre for dinner last night. To my surprise, the famous fried beancurd stall is open! Yeah, I finally get to try it. The stall sells mainly Fried Bean Curd ($0.80) as their main attraction, they also have Ngor Hiang ($0.80) and Fish Balls (2 for $0.50).

Since it is my first time trying, I ordered 1 piece each, turns out the Ngor Hiang is fantastic. Beancurd is nice too, fish ball is ok, not horrid, neither is it fantastic.

This is definitely one dish that you can order to add to your other main dishes. I still can't get over the Ngor Hiang, the skin is so crispy, light and fragrant, so fresh!  The beancurd is fried, but I saw some gravy in the pan, perhaps that is why it is crispy and yet it locks in the moisture. Very unique.

This stall rest on Monday, even on normal weekdays, you got to go early to avoid disappointments.

Next, we have our favorite dessert. KK queued about 10mins to get it. My favorite Tau Suan, so nice, it is not too sweet or starchy. Yummy! And all these for $1.20 only.

Look out for the uncle who does the order taking and packing, he is very entertaining. hahahaha..

After dessert, I am still hungry (yeah Ms. Piggy!), I saw the braised duck rice stall to be quite popular, so went to order a braised duck rice set to share with KK. Turns out pretty normal. Edible but have tasted better ones. Set includes egg, beancurd, peanuts and braised duck meat of course, and a bowl of soup for $3.50.

So what is next? I saw the satay stall selling satays for only 40 cents each, the BBQ chicken wings at $1.00, and the rojak stall BBQ Tau Pok looks good too. Most likely will be trying that on my next visit.
