SALAD FOR APRIL - SWEET POTATO

Had salad this morning, this time we added Japanese Sweet Potato and potatoes.  The sweet potato was from Japan, we got it from Isetan and very sweet, texture is good, not old, and not dry.

Added capsicum too, I noticed that capsicum these days have very hard and tough skin and taste weird.  Do not like them anymore.

SALAD FOR APRIL - AVOCADO

In this season, there are USA Avocados wherever I go, so not much of a choice.  They are ok, although I personally prefer the NZ version, creamier and sweeter.

Photo shot with my LX3 since my cellphone is broken.

SALAD FOR APRIL

More salad for April.

We made egg and potato salad. One of my fav.
We also use mini carrots, not the baby carrots but mini ones.  They are half the size of the normal carrot.  Still hardy and crispy and yet serving size is just right.

MORE SALAD - CARROTS

More salad for this March, this time with carrots.

This one with regular sized carrot.

This one with mini size carrot.  I added apple into this too. Not bad, balanced the taste with some sweetness.

BREAKFAST@HOME - ABC NOODLES

This is easy to make. Campbell's vegetarian ABC soup, any green leafy vegetables and instant noodle (just the noodle, without the soup base powder).

Just dump everything into the pot. That's basically it. Hahahaha..fast to cook, good to eat.

BREAKFAST @HOME - POTATO CROQUETTE BURGER

Today we have our second batch of burgers for breakfast, because the pack of bread comes in 4, so..that's why.

Decided not to have so much meat, we have potato croquette burger instead. It is as much work as the beef burger!  Potato patties are made the way the potato cutlets were made previously.

Ingredients: Hamburger bun, potatoes, peas, corn, bread crumbs, mustard, mayo, tomatoes, cucumber and cheese.

Preparation time: 45 mins.

Partial work done the night before, preparing the potatoes.  If not, I don't think we can go to work on time today. With all the hardwork, it is worth it. Yummy!!

DELICACIES FROM TECK WHYE COFFEESHOP

This is from my favorite stall (Kim Heng Chicken Rice) at the coffeeshop in Teck Whye. Since I am having rashes, I can't take chicken, so we decided to have the roasted duck and char siew rice. Yummy! Patronized this stall for over 20 years now.  The standard and taste is still the same.

Also from the same coffeeshop, this is our vegetarian fried rice. Looks plain but taste good.

OUR HOME MADE SALAD

It's the weekend again and it's Labour Day today. We decided to make salad! This is our first attempt and we went to the market this morning for the ingredients. Here's what we had in our salad:

Iceberg Lettuce (for KK only, since lettuce give me headache), cabbage, potatoes, eggs, asparagas, corn, onions, carrots, tomatoes, capsicum, seaweed, cashew nuts and zucchini. Dressings we used - Thousand Island and Salad Dressing. Do not quite like the dressing, I think will explore others in future.

So, this is our gigantic bowl of salad, sure is super filling and nice.

This is mine. Kinda messy I know.
This is KK's.

YUMMY DINNER AT IFRESHCO

We had ifreshco again today. Something new we had today, I had the vegetarian bento, special request for no sesame and no mushroom. KK had the Yuzu Miso Rice, a little touch of spiciness and very fragrant because of the yuzu.

Below you find Ifreschco logo, did that just for fun, I find their logo so creative and cute.

KOREAN DELIGHTS AT RAFFLES

Had Korean San Che the other day with KK after work. I had the vegetarian version.  Below the fresh vegetables is the rice. Looks simple and plain, but the flavor and sweetness is there, and gosh! It is a BIG bowl.

KK had the saba fish set.

SALAD DAY

Today, I went for lunch with my sister again. This time we had salad!

At Health Fuel Station, you can make your own salad, meaning you can choose the ingredients that you want. I picked capsicum, potato, corn, tomatoes, feta cheese, egg, carrot, cucumber and lettuce with honey mustard sauce. One of the nicest salad I ever had.

Regine had Caesar salad, also very nice. She finished the entire bowl of salad, while I struggled to finish mine. Didn't finish my food again ..

If you are in the area and wanna drop by, here's the place:

GADO GADO

My favorite gado gado from Harbour Front hawker centre (next to bus interchange). Stall name "Haji Daliman Korner" . Fresh and nutty, and they have potatoes, beancurd, beansprouts, tempeh and egg in it. Love it. Yummy, a must try.

* not purely vegetarian as it consist of fish cracker.

CHWEE KUAY

One of the stuff I eat for my breakfast. 4 pc for $1.20.  Somehow I feel that the olden days chwee kuay are much nicer. This modern day version has sesame seeds added to the chai poh, which is something that I really dislike. But somehow, everywhere I go, I can't find any without sesame seeds added. Argh!!
